Ladies Weekend In York
Annual Fiddlers and Friends Christmas Dinner- Sunday 17th December 2017
On Sunday 2nd July over 60 Warwickshire Freemasons paraded through Stratford upon Avon from Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Henley Street along High Street and Chapel Street to New Place, Shakespeare’s last home where he lived the last 16 years of his life, for the dedication of a bronze sculpture of a desk and chair donated by the Freemasons of Warwickshire to celebrate the Tercentenary in 2017. The photographs show the procession passing the Town Hall on its way to New Place and the members of David Garrick Lodge who took part in this memorable occasion.
On Sunday 17th December the annual Fiddlers and Friends Christmas Dinner was held at the Pen and Parchment in Stratford. The event was fully subscribed and a great time was had by all.

DAVID GARRICK LODGE 4243
On 21st October 2016 38 members of the Lodge including partners and friends headed to York for the David Garrick Lodge 4243 Ladies Weekend. Following a lovely day enjoying the wonders of this beautiful old city, on Saturday evening the Worshipful Master, W Bro Derek Wattison and his Lady, Jean, welcomed the attendees to a Gala Dinner at the Monkbar Hotel, which is well-situated by the City Walls close to the magnificent Minster. After a hearty meal the gathering was entertained by Miss Holly Wood, a superb singer/entertainer who ended her act to tremendous applause from all the guests. It is fair to say that ‘a good time was had by all’.
The annual social event to raise money for the Almoner’s Fund which ensures our Lodge Widows and infirm members are not forgotten at Christmas time was again held on the first Saturday of December in the Masonic Hall, Great William Street. More than 60 members, wives, partners and friends attended a most enjoyable and convivial evening and were entertained by the return of Gary Haigh, a most baffling and amusing magician who, as well as presenting a 45-minute exposition of his skills, also worked the tables with his unique brand of close-up magic. An amount of over £800 was raised and the Worshipful Master and his lady, Maria, are to be congratulated on organising such a successful event.
On Sunday 6th August all that attended the 'Concert in the Garden' had a great time. To start of the day there was a BBQ and then live entertainment from Neil Morris. Neil sang the 'greats' by Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble; after this there were drinks and relaxing with friends.
